About Tess
I have 20+ years of experience working at international law firms in Germany and an Arts degree in English literature and linguistics.
Now based in Brisbane, Australia, I am combining my corporate legal experience and my background in linguistics to help others reach and maintain fluency in English for work.
My approach
In recent years, I have been on a parent’s journey to explain the idiosyncrasies of English to my German-English bilingual son. We have met the challenges of the nine variations of how to pronounce ough in words, guessing which part of the world a speaker may come from and the general pace and messiness of native English speech.
The path to speaking English clearly and easily can be navigated. A considerable amount of linguistic research has been carried out about what consistently works for second-language learners to become fluent in English.
Your ability to communicate in English with clarity is one of the strongest skills you can develop if you want to work internationally. My mission is to help you find that clarity, and share with you evidenced-based strategies to build fluency in English.
